Description

Linda Ronstadt with Nelson Riddle — Standards Trilogy & Greatest Hits, 4 LPs

A four-record run of Linda Ronstadt on Asylum, gathering the complete Nelson Riddle standards collaboration alongside her career-defining hits compilation. Included: For Sentimental Reasons (1986, 7559-60474-1), What's New (1983, 7559-60260-1), and Lush Life (1984, 7559-60387-1) — the trio of orchestral pop albums arranged and conducted by Nelson Riddle, the same arranger behind Sinatra's Capitol years — plus Greatest Hits (1976, 6E-106) covering "You're No Good," "Desperado," "When Will I Be Loved," and "Heat Wave."

The Riddle albums marked Ronstadt's pivot from rock and country into the Great American Songbook, a gamble that landed all three records in the upper reaches of the charts and reintroduced big-band arrangement to a pop audience. All four come from a single owner, most acquired in the 1960s and 1970s. Records play; jackets show the wear of a working collection.

CONDITION

Good overall, single-owner collection. Records are playable as shown. Jackets show edge and corner wear, surface scuffing, and tape repairs along several seams and spines — notably the For Sentimental Reasons top corner, the What's New spine, and the Lush Life opening edge. The Greatest Hits back jacket has scattered surface loss to the lower red field. No unpleasant odors.
