Curtis Olsen Surreal Stacked Dogs Lithograph, "Nature's Realm" Gallery
A surreal vertical composition by Curtis Olsen, this color lithograph stacks a teetering tower of canines against a bright cloud-streaked sky. A pug in a party hat anchors the base atop a red fire hydrant, supporting a Dalmatian, a tumbling bulldog, a leaping black Lab in a red collar, and a polka-dotted dog in a space helmet — capped by a crowned Chihuahua riding in a teacup. Tennis balls, balloons, monarch butterflies, and a small rocket float through the scene, lending the piece its playful, dreamlike logic.
The lithograph is matted behind glass in a bamboo-style gilt frame and is maker marked. A Nature's Realm gallery label (1731 W. Bullard, Fresno, CA; Curtis Olsen) is affixed to the rear, tying the work to its original retail source.
