Antique Single-Mount Iron Spurs, Matched Pair — Brass Mounts & Heart Conchos
A matched pair of antique single-mounted riding spurs combining hammered iron heel bands with wide, hand-tooled leather guards. Each guard carries a deeply carved floral and acanthus scroll motif with darkened backgrounds, secured at the leather with a stamped silver-tone heart concho. The iron bands are fitted with applied engraved brass diamonds along the sides and rectangular brass shank plates worked in a wheat-leaf pattern, terminating in serrated sunburst rowels. Leather buckle straps allow adjustable fit.
The heart concho and floral tooling reflect the decorative cowboy gear tradition of the American working ranch. As a matched left-and-right pair retaining intact leather guards, engraved brass mounts, and original rowels, the set preserves its full complement of hardware.
CONDITION
Fair with age-appropriate wear and clear signs of use. Leather guards show heavy patina, edge wear, surface cracking, and darkening consistent with working use; iron carries surface rust and pitting throughout. Rowels turn freely and brass mounts remain seated.
