Steel Agave Garden Sculptures, Verdigris & Copper Finish, Pair
A matched pair of hand-fabricated steel agave sculptures, each rising from a square, textured heavy concrete planter filled with river gravel. The blades are cut and formed individually, then welded into a rosette that mimics the tight, upward geometry of a living agave. Each leaf carries a verdigris blue-green patina broken by copper-toned edges and iron oxidation, with the serrated leaf margins and needle tips echoing the real plant.
The weathering is part of the design — the layered rust, oxidized copper edging, and mineral-mottled concrete containers were built to read as garden-aged rather than new. As a pair they flank an entry, patio, or courtyard with sculptural weight and no watering required. Each piece weighs 25 lbs, giving them stability for outdoor placement.
CONDITION
Good, with signs of outdoor display. The verdigris and rust patina are intentional to the finish; additional surface oxidation and mineral staining to the concrete planters are consistent with time outdoors. Blades are secure and stand firmly in their planters.
