1990s–2000s Pop Culture Comics & Magazine Lot of 5 — Nick, Marvel, Archie

Saturday morning. You're cross-legged on the carpet, bowl of cereal going soggy, cartoons running back-to-back. Tommy Pickles is causing chaos. The Warners are escaping the water tower. Archie is making a fool of himself in front of Betty again. These five pieces land squarely in that moment — a snapshot of the pop culture that defined a generation of kids who grew up with Nickelodeon on the TV and a stack of comics on the nightstand.

The lot includes Rugrats Comic Adventures Vol. 1 No. 1 (Nickelodeon / Klasky Csupo) — the first issue of the tie-in series for one of Nick's defining shows; Animaniacs No. 12 (DC / WB Family Entertainment, April 1996), the "Have A Nice Day!!!" smiley-face cover that captures the series' gleeful absurdism; and an Archie Free Comic Book Day issue from 2004, art by Jeff Shultz and Jon D'Agostino, with Archie mugging outside a comic shop. Rounding out the nostalgia are the Nickelodeon Magazine March 1997 "Star Wars Strikes Back" issue — Luke and Leia on the cover, interviews with Coolio, Kobe, and Keegan inside — and Ultimate Spider-Man #65 ("Detention," Marvel Direct Edition) by Bendis, Bagley, and Hanna, the one issue in the group that carries genuine modern-age collector traction with its striking Gwen Stacy cover.
