Oak Roll Top Desk, Nine Drawers with Pull-Out Writing Surfaces
A double-pedestal oak roll top desk in the traditional S-curve tambour form, built in solid wood with a finished back panel that lets it stand free in a room rather than against a wall. The tambour retracts to reveal a fitted interior of open pigeonholes, a scalloped central valance, and two small drawers flanking the writing well. Turned wood knobs and applied block-molding pulls carry across the drawer fronts, with brass hardware at the interior drawers.
The lower case holds nine drawers total, including two file drawers among the pedestals, plus two pull-out writing surfaces beneath the roll top for expanded work space. A working lock with key secures the tambour. The desk is fully functional and tested; drawers run and the roll top operates smoothly. Warm honey-toned finish with heavy grain figure throughout.
CONDITION
Fair and fully functional. Scratched, chipped, and scuffed with finish wear throughout, most pronounced around the base and lower moldings. One curved side gallery shows finish loss and a small edge chip; wear is documented in the reference photos.
