Sterling Silver Salt & Pepper Shaker Set by Duchin Creation
A matched pair of urn-form sterling silver shakers by Duchin Creation, each rising from a stepped, gadroon-bordered foot to a tapered baluster body and a domed, pierced cap crowned with a turned finial. The same twisted-rope gadroon runs along the shoulder and foot rim, tying the profile together. The undersides are stamped STERLING with the Duchin Creation maker's mark and WEIGHTED, confirming reinforced, filled bases for table stability.
Duchin Creation produced sterling holloware and giftware through the mid-20th century, with weighted table pieces like these a mainstay of postwar American dining. Fields are left plain and uncrested, ready for use as they are. Sold as found — polishing is left to the buyer.
CONDITION
Good. Surfaces carry tarnish, light scratching, and scattered darkening throughout consistent with age and use. Both caps thread and seat properly; no dents or splits noted.
