Fifteen Puzzle Sliding Tile Game, Chrome Case, Red Snap Pouch & Manual
The Fifteen Puzzle broke the world in 1880. Sam Loyd offered $1,000 to anyone who could slide the tiles from a specific scrambled position to perfect sequential order — and kept every dollar, because it's mathematically impossible from that starting arrangement. Knowing that doesn't make the compulsion any easier to resist. This pocket version is cast in a polished chrome-tone metal frame, the fifteen tiles alternating red and cream enamel in a 4×4 grid, the single open square just waiting for you to start shuffling. Maker-marked on the case edge. Slides clean.
It comes complete with its original red snap-close carry pouch with gilt script lettering — the kind of object that rides in a jacket pocket, gets pulled out at a bar, and doesn't go home alone.
CONDITION
Good. No remarkable damage. Tiles slide freely; enamel faces are clean with no chips noted. Minor surface wear to the chrome frame consistent with light use.
