English Copper Mixing Bowls with Ring Handles & Copper Gratin Dish, Set of 4
A four-piece grouping of Made in England copper kitchenware. Three graduated hemispherical mixing bowls feature rolled rims and single riveted brass ring handles, each mounting plate stamped MADE IN ENGLAND. The fourth piece is a small copper gratin or serving dish with a tinned interior and twin brass side handles. All four carry the warm patina and honest surface variation of long kitchen use.
Ring-handle copper bowls of this type were designed for the classic French technique of whipping egg whites — the reactive copper interior stabilizing the foam — and hung from rails when not in use, the handle doubling as function and display. The graduated bowl sizes nest for storage, and the tinned gratin dish rounds out the working set. A practical grouping with genuine kitchen character.
CONDITION
Good overall with age-appropriate wear across all four pieces. Expect denting, finish wear and loss, surface spotting, and light scratching consistent with working use; the gratin dish shows heavy tin wear to the interior. Patina throughout.
