Thomasville Distressed Black Cedar-Lined Blanket Chest with Two Drawers
A panel-front blanket chest by Thomasville, finished in a distressed black over an oak-grained surface with rubbed-through highlights at the edges and corners — a designed distressing that lets warm undertones show through the raised-panel framing. The hinged lift-top opens on iron stays to a fully cedar-lined interior with knotty, figured grain throughout. Below, two dovetailed drawers ride on the lower band, fitted with turned brass knobs and felt-lined bottoms.
Construction is solid throughout: framed raised panels on the front, sides, and finished back, seated on a molded base over turned bun feet. The interior brass Thomasville maker's plate confirms the attribution. Cedar lining makes this a natural for storing linens, quilts, or seasonal textiles, and the finished back allows placement at the foot of a bed or floating in a room. Comes ready for pickup and transport.
CONDITION
Good with signs of light use. Scratching to the top surface is the most noticeable wear; the distressed finish shows intended rub-through at edges and corners. Cedar interior is clean, drawers slide well, and the lid hardware operates properly.
